Fairbruary 2025

We are happy to have run the new Fairbuwarie campaign, (we did have some fun with the pronunciation!) as the campaign focussed on the companies and products we work with.

Our online advertising campaign ran for the month and generated nearly a million impressions and reaches! Altogether we had over 6,000 new visitors to our website and the product hunt and quiz worked well in highlighting locally available Fairtrade products. The inclusion of the 7 campaign sponsors, including Bewley’s and Lidl, as well as many more, was an important element of the campaign.

“If it’s fair – just buy it” was the slogan welcoming users to Fairbruary.ie and visible on the streets in a JC Decaux advertising campaign. The feedback we had on our Facebook, and Instagram ads, and on social media posts, is that the inspiring recipes from 7 key companies with Fairtrade products, were the most visited pages on our website.

We worked with two websites, Fairbruary.ie and Fairtrade.ie  (a bit tricky re messaging 😉) and that allowed us to do more activities during the campaign. This included organising some producer talks for supporters and sharing more information on a key question;  ‘Why Fairtrade?’

One online coffee salon was about the impact of high coffee prices, and the discussion was mirrored in this significant article Coffee Prices Are at a 50-Year High. Producers Aren’t Celebrating’ in the New York Times, on the same topic, and focussing on coffee coops in Honduras.

We also know that many of our supporters in places like Clondalkin, Carrick-on-Shannon, Limerick and more, also continued to fly the flag with events locally which is much appreciated!

Thanks to all who gave of their time and resources.
