About Fairtrade Mark Ireland
Fairtrade Mark Ireland awards a consumer label, the FAIRTRADE Mark, to products which meet internationally recognised standards of Fairtrade. Supported by ActionAid Ireland, Amnesty International (Irish Section), Christian Aid, Comhlámh, Concern, Friends of the Earth, Irish Aid, Irish Congress of Trade Unions, Oxfam Ireland and Trócaire. We are a small Third World charity based in Dublin. We are active throughout Ireland via our supporter network of dedicated volunteers, involved in the promotion of Fairtrade, the Fairtrade Towns project, and FAIRTRADE Mark products.
Fairtrade Mark Ireland is the Irish Member of the Fairtrade Labelling Organizations International (FLO)

Irish Aid, the Government's programme of overseas development assistance, is among the largest donors to Fairtrade development assistance programmes in the world. In 2008 Irish Aid approved grants of over €3.25 million in support of producers in developing countries, four countries in East Africa (Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania and Ethiopia) and four countries in Central America (El Salvador, Nicaragua, Honduras and Guatemala).
Irish Aid has also supported the Irish Fair Trade Network's (IFTNs) work in Ireland since 1994, including in the area of development education
